“Sometimes the hardest part of the journey is believing you're worthy of the trip.” - Glenn Beck

French Life Hard Friends Far Away Travel Loneliness
I have been in a rough spot lately and even if I had to attend a wedding in Catbalogan City (Samar), I welcomed the get-away.
Abuyog to Catbalogan City usually takes around 5 hours to get there.
But, by car, it only took 3 hours.
I left the house at around 8:am and arrived at Catbalogan a few minutes after 11 am.
One of the focal points of my travel was the beachfront at Tanauan.
The nice houses along the beach front is so detached from the rest of the town but just gazing at the waves slowly crawling up the shore makes one realize how fantastic it would be to live there.
I like to call it rural serenity. :)
Anyhow, after Tanauan, it would only take around 20 minutes to get to Tacloban.
Yet this time, I didn’t aim for the city proper.
Instead, we took a left turn going on to San Juanico Bridge.
A lot of people might not appreciate this man-made infrastructure but Filipino’s certainly do.
And the fact that it is so out of place makes it even more wondrous.
Moving on, it takes a public utility van around 2 and a half or maybe even 3 hours to get to Catbalogan. We made it in one and a half. :)
The journey was quite a boring one but listening to music from my android and seeing all of the spectacular natural wonders of Leyte and Samar made the trip worthwhile. (Not to mention the fact that I nearly cried at my cousin’s wedding because of her sheer radiance!!! T,T)
So, there we go. My Wedding-Getaway trip to Catbalogan.
BTW, I am sooo going back there. The shops and ukay-ukay’s are not going to keep me away from Catbalogan for long. Well, that and the fact that I would love to try out the pizza place right next to my Auntie’s house! :p
